Now do not get me wrong, we love our technology too, as a matter of fact it is how I earn a living. I am an Automation Engineer, I spend a lot of time behind the computer screens just thinking crap up...and, well it gets to be boring and rather dull...So I often seek time to always try and connect with the outdoors and I love learning how to do things I have never done before...
It has long been a dream of ours to create something that allows us to share our heritage with others, as well as learn about others' heritages. So at first glance this looks like any other hunting and fishing website, but look closer...our goal is to share basic knowledge. Which includes anything from hunting and fishing to camping, cutting wood, canning foods, butchering and processing meat...basically anything you need to have the basic tools to live...What we are sharing is not necessarily survival techniques, but more general life things apart from all the tech...
So several years ago I started investing time into learning meat processing, I was already a hunter and like so many others I took my deer to the local butcher. When I was a teenager I worked for the butcher I take my deer to, so I had a little understanding about how to cut meat, but that was about as far as it went. Cutting meat off the bone to grind to burger or cutting some steaks was no big deal, but making bologna or curing anything else was far from anything we thought we would be doing anytime in the future...well all that changed...and through this website we are hoping not only to share our hunting and fishing videos, we are also hoping to share what it is to get Bac2TheBasics...
